Gypsy
Jule Styne
In the United States, during the Great Depression, a housewife dreams of stardom and decides to travel the country with her two daughters - Baby June and Louise - to present her shows. Based on this true story, lyricist Stephen Sondheim – to whom we owe West Side Story - and composer Jule Styne created a masterpiece that was to become the mother of musicals, strangely enough never performed in France until now.
Some people sit on their buttsGot the dream, yeah, but not the guts
That's living for some people
For some hum-drum people I suppose
Well, they can stay and rot
But not Rose
