Environmental responsibility

The Opera is committed to reducing and recycling its waste. Since signing an agreement in September 2025 with the La Benne Idée recycling centre, 192 kg of fabric from the Opera’s sewing workshop has been collected and recycled.

Such an initiative requires the involvement of everyone involved in this recycling process: the Opera’s costume designers, the staff at La Benne Idée, but also those who draw on the recycling centre’s materials library to bring new projects to life: the Femmes Relais association, which supports vulnerable residents of the Île-de-France region, has created a rug from scraps left over from the Opera’s opera productions. Well done to them for this creation!
