Canciones y pasiones

Featuring countertenor Paul-Antoine Bénos-Djian and pianist Bianca Chillemi, this recital weaves a delicate thread between Spain, Argentina and Brazil. Melodies by Carlos Guastavino and Alberto Ginastera are interwoven with Brazilian works, piano pieces inspired by Argentine folk traditions and a handful of arrangements of popular songs that lend the programme a more intimate colour. Performed at a number of venues and festivals since its creation, the programme has gradually found its own distinctive voice — somewhere between the refinement of the recital tradition, the vitality of folk song and the sheer pleasure of melody. The spring 2026 release of the album recorded for Harmonia Mundi marks a new stage in that journey. The result is a warm, richly contrasted and immediately inviting musical voyage, in which voice and piano share the same sense of lyricism, dance, nostalgia, light, freedom and memory.
