Carte blanche
aux cuivres et aux percussions de l’Orchestre
Often at the heart of the orchestra’s breath, momentum and pulse, they are the ones who suddenly shift the music’s temperature. For one evening, the brass and percussion players of the Opéra national de Nancy-Lorraine Orchestra step out from the shadows of the pit and into the spotlight. Following an inaugural concert last season, they return with a new tailor-made programme showcasing everything that makes these instrumental families so distinctive: power, certainly, but also precision, colour, warmth, flashes of humour and that remarkable ability to conjure an entire sonic world in just a few bars. Conceived as a journey through styles, atmospheres and musical worlds, this carte blanche invites audiences to rediscover a richly varied repertoire. Festive bursts, incisive rhythms, collective energy and a flair for contrast all unfold within the same sweeping movement. A vibrant, generous and surprising evening, carried by dazzling timbres.
